Earlier this year, we introduced the ability to showcase digital collectibles on Instagram in over 100 countries. Today, we are expanding this feature to include even more countries in Europe. This empowers creators and NFT collectors to connect their digital wallets to Instagram and display their digital collectibles, whether created or purchased.

Furthermore, Instagram will now support video and animated NFTs, adding an extra layer of creativity to your collections. We’re also partnering with OpenSea to enrich metadata for selected collections, including collection names and descriptions. The supported blockchains include Ethereum, Polygon, Flow, and Solana, while compatible third-party wallets include Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Dapper, and Phantom.

Our commitment to creators extends beyond monetization. We’re making it easier for audiences to show their appreciation and support their favorite creators, fostering stronger communities and bolstering their businesses.

Introducing Subscriptions on Instagram

Creators in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada are in for a treat as we commence testing subscriptions. This feature allows creators to earn a steady income while building deeper connections with their most engaged followers. Already successful in the United States, subscriptions have enabled creators like Cole Sprouse, Alan Chow, and Skai Jackson to get even closer to their dedicated supporters.

Stars and Gifts – An Enhanced Experience

Discovering Stars on Facebook is now effortless, as we enable Stars on public creator content, including Reels. This broadens the horizons for users to engage with Stars, and we’re currently testing this with a select group of creators worldwide.

For creators already using Stars, we’ve introduced new features to enhance their interaction with Star senders, including Stars parties, virtual gifts tailored to specific content, and an improved comment manager. We’re also expanding Stars to non-video public content, such as photos and text posts.

Innovative Ways to Earn on Facebook

We’ve recently launched music revenue sharing on Facebook, providing creators and music rights holders with a fresh income stream. Creators using licensed music in videos that are 60 seconds or longer can now earn through in-stream ads, with a share of the revenue allocated to music rights holders.

Unlocking Professional Mode for Facebook Profiles

Embracing a dual presence on Facebook is now easier with the introduction of professional mode for profiles. This setting allows creators to maintain their personal Facebook experience while building a public presence. Professional mode opens doors to various revenue streams, including Stars, ads on Facebook Reels, in-stream ads, and Reels Play. Creators will also gain access to content and audience analytics, along with a host of educational resources.
